Healing HeART Therapy

"We are all a little broken. But the last time I checked, broken crayons still color" -Trent Shelton

Healing HeART Therapy was created in order to provide a space for clients to express themselves and to work through current or past experiences, providing a creative alternative for emotional healing, self-discovery, and growth. At Healing heART Therapy, the guiding belief is that even a broken crayon can still create something beautiful. In other words, no matter what life situations may have left you feeling broken, healing and growth are still possible.

Do you struggle with the emotions that come with a diagnosis of a terminal or chronic illness? Do you feel the weight of being a caregiver for a loved one facing illness or alcohol addiction? Are you experiencing anxiety, grief, anger, exhaustion, or a loss of self as you navigate the challenges that come with an illness? Do you feel resentment, guilt, shame, confusion, or the pain of losing the relationship you once had with your spouse because of addiction? Do you question whether things will ever get better or how long you can keep holding onto the “I’ve got to be strong” mentality?

At Healing HeART Therapy, the therapeutic use of art is encouraged but not required. Art can support healing and enhance emotional well-being. Sometimes words aren’t enough, and art becomes the bridge to express what feels unspoken. You don’t have to be an artist to benefit from art therapy—it's about the process, not the final product. Just like the emotions and life circumstances we explore in therapy, creative expression can be raw, imperfect, and deeply meaningful.

Experience

I graduated from Florida State University with a Master’s of Science in Art Therapy. I have over 10 years of experience providing services to children, teens, and adults in the areas of anxiety, trauma and abuse, abandonment, ADHD, autism, and self-esteem challenges. I have a passion for helping the loved ones of those struggling with alcohol addiction as well as those struggling with cancer or chronic illness.

With an extensive background in art and psychology, I would love to educate you about the world of art therapy and how it provides a safe space to explore your feelings and experiences creatively in order to support your emotional healing and personal development.

When I'm not in the office providing therapy to my clients, I can be found on the water slalom skiing, hanging out with my dog, or reading.
